He captures the emotion and energy of your event and tell its story by photographing the important moments, including the small ones – the smiles, the kisses, the gasps of surprise – that might otherwise fade from memory. He does this not just by snapping tons of pictures, but by carefully observing and then artistically composing arresting shots to show you and your event in a natural fashion.
Brett doesn't want to be pigeonholed into a certain photography "style", but if you must, “photojournalistic” is probably the closest. But don’t think the Daily News or People Magazine. Think Life Magazine. Think National Geographic. Think Vanity Fair.
Vanity Fair? It doesn’t have much photojournalistic photography, right? Well, in addition to being a documentarian, Brett is a portraitist. He excels at photographing people, whether posed or un-posed. A pure photojournalist will shoot your event without interaction. Brett will shoot a variety of formal and informal portraits, and will sometimes make suggestions to help everyone look their best and make the shot more compelling. He'll work with you to achieve portraits that go well beyond the standard shots of the wedding party standing in a line. |
