Friendly and attentive staff
I want to rate Mountainville Manor 3.5 stars. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It is very clean and nicely decorated. The grounds are very pretty. My criticism of this venue stems from the food served during the reception. The chicken tenders are not chicken tenders but rather the chopped and formed nuggets that are bought frozen. Please note that this was not a children's menu. The waffle fries served with them reminded one of a happy meal minus the toy. The filet mignon and salmon were so uniform in size that one could conclude they were not fresh but bought in bulk form from a food warehouse. They tasted okay though. The stuffed baked potates served with either choice were just too heavy to hold up as a side dish next to the beef or fish. Perhaps a rice or mashed potato side with a vegetable medley would have been better. We also thought that the salad dressing should be on the side in case someone wanted just vinegar and oil. The dressing was a gluey concoction that didn't taste very good. Coffee service was a little off when it came to getting milk, etc. The bartender at the cocktail hour was great. The cocktail hour hot food was okay. I would recommend this place but I would try and have better control of exactly what food is going to be served to your guests.
