| We used Pamela's for a wedding in upstate NY, and were not all that pleased. She seemed really helpful when we met her, and gave us a lot of great ideas, but then after we hired her she became difficult to get in touch with and did not respond to emails. Her assistant never knew anything, so we always had to try to contact Pamela, but she was hard to reach. In the end, the catering was not what we had hoped.
Taste: The appetizers were great, the entrees were just OK (edible, but by no means delicious, and not what we had tasted beforehand), deserts were very good.
Amount of food: Good, except for deserts, which disappeared almost immediately, in spite of the fact that I had said I was really into deserts and wanted a lot of them. They kept saying they had "more in the back," but they never showed up. Very upsetting. I didn't even get any.
Presentation: Awful. My high school cafeteria had better presentation. They just dumped the food into those big heated tins (not the fancy kind, either), and lined them up on a table, no decor or attempt to make it look nice. It was embarrassing. And we had been told when we hired her that the presentation would be excellent.
Price: Beware. We did not receive a final bill before the wedding even though we requested one half a dozen times. We specifically asked not to be presented with the bill at the wedding itself, but that is what happened. And the price had gone up significantly from what it was in our contract, (we were over-charged about 1000) and we were just too tired and frazzled to argue about it at that point. Still very upset about that. |
